Early Learning at Brella
Brella’s research-backed, play-based curriculum was developed with guidance from Ivy League experts in early childhood development.
Through hands-on exploration, collaborative play, and thoughtfully designed activities, children build foundational skills in language (including Spanish), early math, science discovery, and creative expression.
Each day encourages curiosity, independence, and confidence while helping children develop the cognitive and social-emotional skills that prepare them for the next stage of learning.

Learning in Action
Busy Bees!
Children explored sensory play and early science through a honey-themed activity. As they scooped and poured colored rice into a pasta “honeycomb,” they built fine motor skills, experimented with tools, and practiced counting and sorting. With images of bees nearby, they used descriptive language and learned about the natural world through hands-on play.
Learning Outcomes
Early Math: Counting and sorting
Early Science & Inquiry: Understanding of the natural world
Motor Skills: Fine motor skills, manipulating tools
Literacy, Language & Storytelling: Vocabulary, descriptive language
Kitchen Beats!
Using pots, pans, and kitchen utensils, children created a collaborative drum circle to investigate rhythm and sound. They tapped and experimented with different objects, discovering changes in volume and tempo. Shared music-making supported coordination, listening, and creative self-expression.
Learning Outcomes
Art, Music & Creativity: Rhythm, sound exploration, expression
Movement & Motor Skills: Coordination, gross motor control
Social-Emotional Skills: Turn-taking, participation
Early Science & Inquiry: Cause and effect
Bridge Builders
With recycled cups, popsicle sticks, and small animal figurines, children designed bridges for animals to cross. They balanced and adjusted their structures, exploring stability and problem-solving. Collaborative building strengthened fine motor skills and introduced how structures support movement.
Learning Outcomes
Early Math & Problem Solving: Spatial reasoning, problem-solving
Early Science & Inquiry: Stability, engineering
Movement & Motor Skills: Fine motor control
Social-Emotional Skills: Collaboration, persistence
Letters in the Sand
A hands-on letter investigation invited children to match letter cards with scrabble tiles and search for them in a sand tray. They traced and formed letters with paintbrushes, building recognition and phonetic awareness. Combining letters into simple words deepened their understanding of sound-symbol relationships.
Learning Outcomes
Literacy, Language & Storytelling: Letter recognition, phonics
Movement & Motor Skills: Letter formation, grip
Early Science & Inquiry: Sensory exploration
Early Math & Problem Solving: Sorting, matching
Mountain Makers - A Paper Mache Exploration
