Quality
Our educators design thoughtful learning experiences that nurture curiosity, confidence, and early skills through play, exploration, and guided activities. These experiences come to life in warm, engaging classrooms intentionally created so children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
COMMUNITY
Brella is a community where children build friendships, families connect, and parents feel supported through regular events, parent education classes, resources, and opportunities to learn together.
Access
Your family is part of the Brella network. Schedule at any of our locations and enjoy the same trusted care, welcoming teachers, and familiar experience wherever you go.
The Brella curriculum
Our play-based, research-backed curriculum, designed with guidance from Ivy League experts, blends guided learning and open-ended exploration to help children build confidence, curiosity, and compassion.
Through hands-on activities across language, early math, science, creative expression, music and movement, dramatic play, and Spanish language learning woven throughout the day, children develop cognitive thinking, communication, social-emotional awareness, fine and gross motor skills, and practical life skills.
Our educators are trained in early childhood development and create engaging classroom experiences that meet children where they are while encouraging them to grow.
Learning continues beyond the classroom. Brella families also receive simple at-home activity ideas that extend classroom discoveries and make learning part of everyday life.
Supporting every stage of early childhood.
Families can begin in our infant program and continue through Pre-K, building confidence, skills, and readiness for kindergarten.
Infant & Toddler
Our Infant and Toddler program supports the earliest stages of development through warm, attentive care, meaningful connection, and thoughtfully designed early learning experiences that encourage mobility, cognitive growth, and strong caregiver bonds.
Preschool
Our Preschool classrooms encourage independence, creativity, and cognitive and social-emotional growth. Children explore language, early math, science, and collaborative play through hands-on learning guided by experienced educators.
Pre-K
Our Pre-K program helps children build the confidence and foundational skills needed for kindergarten. Through project-based learning, problem solving, and guided exploration, children strengthen communication, critical thinking, and independence.
The Brella day
Few highlights of the day.
Morning Circle
Everyday starts with a warm welcome as children gather to say hello, sing our greeting and calendar songs, and discuss the day ahead. We encourage participation at each child’s ability and help them feel confident in their role within the classroom.
Guided Activities
Guided Activities introduce new concepts and are designed to be challenges that encourage growth and development. Activities are just beyond what the child is able to complete individually with ease, at which point the Teacher is there to guide, encourage, scaffold and support the exploration of the concept or project.
Literacy Workshop
At Brella, the Literacy Workshop uses a unique blend of storytelling, movement, play, and Spanish language exposure to introduce early reading and writing skills and spark interest in academic concepts at all ages.
Afternoon Circle
After rest time, we come back together to reconnect as a group. Afternoon circle is a gentle reset where children are welcomed back, new friends joining for the day are included, and we ease into the afternoon with songs, conversation, and a look at what’s ahead. This time helps children feel grounded, connected, and ready to re-engage.
Guided Activities
Small Group Activities
Small Group Activities at Brella are intentional provocations that invite 2-4 students to manipulate resources available in an open ended format. They are created to invoke moments of natural and healthy interactions where children are challenged to use their words, turn take and practice patience in close proximity play.
STEM Workshop
Our STEM specialists introduce children to new natural materials, scientific principles ranging from natural sciences, chemistry, technology, and engineering.
Studio Art
Children explore collaborative art projects at times working independently and other collaboratively. Lessons focus on early techniques, color theory, and art appreciation.
Music & Movement
Our music specialists teach children early music principles and appreciation during dedicated music classes throughout the week. Classes introduce children to the concepts of rhythm, beat, and melody, as well as various instruments from around the world.
Morning/Afternoon snack
A break in the day’s activities for children to replenish with a healthy snack. Children are encouraged to eat as independently as possible. Snack usually occurs between 9-10AM, 2-3PM, and 5-6PM each day.
Lunch
An opportunity for children to have a longer meal together, we use lunch as an opportunity to work on social and emotional skills as well as to enjoy food together as a group. Lunch usually occurs between 11-12PM each day.
Rest
Children are offered an opportunity to rest between 12-2PM each day. Infants, sleep on their own schedules throughout the day. We provide freshly laundered linens and clean cots/cribs for each child.
